"Formation" means being formed in the ways and likeness of Jesus
Christ. One way we are formed is through learning.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans, "Do not be conformed to this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you
may discern what is the will of God...."
The Formation Cloister at St. Paul's seeks to offer children, youth, and adults a solid
educational foundation for Christian worship and outreach throughout
their lives.
The following priorities for
the Formation Cloister were developed at the 2008 Chapter retreat:
Goals for the future:
- Constant and
consistent Sunday School offerings, regardless of
attendance; teach three children as if there were thirty;
keep age groupings relatively narrow
- Outreach with
youth participation
- Share some
activities with St. Timothy's youth
- Make teen lessons
both fun and educational
- Participate in
regional youth events
- Involve youth
actively in worship
- Have more evening
adult activities
