Steeple?
Not really, but the 801 Grand tower (pictured above) makes St. Paul’s
Episcopal Cathedral easy to locate. The real steeple and attached cathedral
sit directly across High street (north) from the state’s tallest building.
So, just aim for the tower.
St. Paul’s is located at the corner of 9th St. and High.
Keep in mind that I-235, also known as THE MC VICAR FREEWAY zips right
through downtown Des Moines (map) and links up with I-80 on either end.

Approaching Des Moines from the west or south?
When approaching Des Moines from the west or south on Interstate 80 east or
Interstate 35 north take Interstate 235 east to the Keo Way south exit to
9th St. south.
Approaching Des Moines from the East or North?
If approaching from the east or north of Des Moines on Interstate 80 west or
Interstate 35 south, take Interstate 235 west to the Keo Way and 19th St./MLK
Jr. Pkwy exit, then take Keo Way south to 9th St.
