Coffee hour is a social event that follows every Sunday
Eucharist. After each of us has had our individual time for
prayer, worship, and thanks, we gather with one another for a time
of informal fellowship. We are able to greet newcomers,
interact with the clergy and choir, share what is going on in our
lives, and learn what is happening during upcoming weeks in the
Parish.
Certain Sundays have a special significance; coffee hour gives us
a social environment to learn about individuals who have
played a vital role in Christianity and the Episcopal Church or to
celebrate specific holy days by serving traditional food.
The coffee hour committee also prepares for special
visitors –visiting bishops, clergy, and guest speakers – as well as
important events at the Cathedral and special services such as the
Easter Vigil.
Coffee hour is held either in the Guild Hall or in the Undercroft.
It provides a time of greeting and social interaction as we prepare for the week ahead of us.
